Twenty audition for Miss Millennium

23 Jan 2023

More than 20 Women from diverse backgrounds from aged 40 and above audition for Miss Millennium pageant in Mogoditshane on January 21.

Event organiser, Zenzele Hirschfield said that the auditions were the third edition in the history of the pageant that would see the reigning queen, Mimi Majube pass the baton to the new queen February 18.

The auditions that were held physically and digitally were according to Hirschfield, necessary in building participants’ self-confidence.

She said auditions helped them master the confident to walk the runway and be interviewed in front of judges and large crowds during the finale.

“During the auditions you also get an opportunity to meet and network with successful women of different careers  or other contestants who may support and encourage you,,” said Hirschfield.

Further, she said auditions prepared participants and gave them  a window of opportunities to modelling, acting, performing, to market themselves and even public speaking” she said.

Hirschfield said there was improvement and growth among the participants this year.

She said the pageant ignited a love for beauty pageants that women had but gave up because of responsibilities such as motherhood and marriage, encouraged community building, empowerment and cared for the needy and people living with disabilities.

There would be a series of events leading to the grand finale including high tea, My Health, My All and a sporting event. Ends
