Something Big Events will in April host the first ever Miss Supranational pageant in Botswana.

Miss Supranational is an annual international female beauty pageant which started in 2009 and most of its contests are held in Poland.  

It is among the top five most popular pageants worldwide, with international viewership of over 100 million during its international grand finale.

One of the founding members of the management company, Kaone Moremong, said they had bid for the pageant license last year March and were officially given it in October.

“Miss Supranational will be documented into a 13-episode series, which will thereafter, be broadcast on national television. This project offers a new optimistic and carefully curated potential for growth which eventually will ascend in world rankings,” said Moremong.

She said they will begin a nationwide tour on January 21 that will last up to February 18.

“Thereafter, top 30 eligible contestants will be announced to the public, top 12 on March 18, followed by the queen coronation in Gaborone on April 8. The queen will then receive relevant training until she competes on an international platform in July 2023 at Poland,” she said.

Some of the prizes the queen will walk away with include a car, wardrobe worth of P50 000, hair sponsorship, medical aid assistance, housing for a period of her reign, fitness membership, full degree sponsorship at a local university and beauty spa treatment.

Audition dates are January 21 in Kasane, Maun January 22, Ghanzi January 28, Kang January 29, Francistown February 4, Selebi Phikwe February 5, Palapye February 11, Jwaneng  February 12  and Gaborone on February 17 and 18.
