Little beauty queen, Katlego Mpudi is appealing for donations to make her dream of representing Botswana at Mini Miss Junior Idol World International a reality.

The pageant is billed for Bangkok, Thailand from January 4-9, 2023.

The eight year-old standard three pupil at Boseja Primary School has been selected by the Junior Idol World organisation to represent the country at the pageant, which aims to create opportunities for youngsters to showcase their talent to the world.

Katlego participated in several pageants such as Royal International Miss Botswana 2022, where she was crowned the queen and won the best humanitarian project award.

She was also Miss Gem Africa Botswana First Runner Up in August.

Her mother, Duduetsang Mpudi revealed in an interview that her daughter was in need of sponsorship to prepare for the upcoming pageant hence she  appealed for financial assistance to enable Katlego to achieve her dream.

The little queen needs funding to cover registration, accommodation, flight ticket, wardrobe, make-up and hairstyle among others.

Mpudi also revealed that her daughter was scheduled to represent the country at Orlando, Florida after winning the Royal International Miss Botswana, but failed due to financial constraints.

Her daughter, she said, was multi-talented as she was into modelling and poetry, adding that Katlego had been actively involved in modelling and pageants from when she was five years old and was very passionate.

She explained that Katlego also had been undertaking some humanitarian projects, citing donation of toiletry to Letsholathebe hospital patients in collaboration with Kweneng Social Club, as well as donating full uniforms to 144 pupils at Legotlhwane Primary School in collaboration with Bagaetsho Social Club.

She said recently, Katlego hosted a successful beauty pageant for primary schools in Maun with the aim to unleash talent and was currently planning Miss Secondary School pageant in Maun. BOPA
