Joyous Celebration’s life changing festival, scheduled for the University of Botswana Sports Arena tomorrow, will be a fun-filled activity that features Botswana upcoming artists.
Such artists include Tshenolo Mosima, Keolebogile Mokaleng and Motheo Rabasa, while Dato Seiko will appear as a guest artist.
In an interview with Bonolo Kgosintwa, the Brave Hearts Corporation manager, the intention is to provide the trio with exposure and accord them an opportunity to benchmark.
“Emerging talent never makes it any further in the music industry, this is primarily due to lack of exposure and mentorship,” she explained.
“We are hopeful that the collaboration between these three and Joyous Celebration will be a stepping ladder to better heights in the industry.”
She stated that, while the collaboration would not be a long-term endeavour, they were hopeful that something positive would come out of it and they intend to continue scouting different upcoming artists for collaborations with the group.
Kgosintwa is hopeful that the festival will make a difference in the lives of those who will attend, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic had had a toll on people’s lives.
“This will be the fifth edition of Joyous Celebration coming over. For the past two years, we had to halt it due to COVID-19 safety restrictions,” she said.
The Joyous Celebration group is expected to arrive today in Gaborone and there will be a meet and greet session.
“The group will be welcomed by a performance from Dr Vom and Dikapaka, these two are well known for their traditional music, they will also be served with only traditional meals, this is to give them that Setswana feeling and experience,” Kgosintwa said. Ends
