Miss Botswana 2022 will wear a locally designed unique crown, courtesy of La Calla and KGK Diamond  Manufacturer.

The P150 000 worth crown was launched in Gaborone on Tuesday.

La calla owner and designer of the crown, Caiphas Othomile said the design was inspired by Botswana’s main staple food - sorghum, adding that the sorghum head was a way of celebrating the country’s cultural heritage.

“The crown incorporates some of the most brilliant and glittering Botswana diamonds,” he said.

KGK Diamonds Manufacturer, assistant manager, Siddarth Gothi  said he was privileged to have taken part in manufacturing a crown for the finest woman in Botswana.

He said diamonds represented Botswana’s dazzling grandeur, adding that the crown also exhibited the characteristics of a natural diamond such as tradition, beauty, love, sparkle and genuine affection.

He wished the 10 Miss Botswana contestants well for the grand finale slated for Saturday at the Fairscape Precinct in Gaborone.
