Kgosi Malope Weds

Multitudes of people among them, President Mokgweetsi Masisi, First Lady Neo, other dignitaries including cabinet ministers and the private sector thronged Kanye for the wedding celebration of Bangwaketse Paramount Chief , Kgosi Malope II and Maseitsebi Motlomelo of Lesotho.
On his Facebook page, President Masisi on Saturday, shared his sincere wishes of love, blessings and prosperity to the newly wed royal couple.
“Letse rele tjemo ee monate ko ga Maila re na le marara ka go harologana. Once again congratulations and more blessings to Kgosi le Mohumagadi,” his post read.
The ceremony was the second leg, the first having been held at the brides place in Maseru, Lesotho last week.
Women clad in the traditional leteisi attire and men in their mephato regalia danced to the tunes of Ditiro Leero’s Mmaratwa, classical compositions of Mount Olives Quartet, and that of Fifi Africa who featured some of the common classical tunes by likes of Celine Dione.
The ceremony was perfect, décor at par with the status, the atmosphere serene as family and friends explored the Mmakgodumo Gardens, where the event was held.
The royal wedding began at the Kgotla where Kgosi Malope II and wife made a grand entrance on a jeep Wranger surrounded and led on escort by his Mophato, Malosantwa comprising of men and women on foot and on horses, where they were received with ululations into the Kgotla for a sermon.The newlyweds then proceeded to Mmakgodumo Gardens where a 1 000 seat marque tent was erected.
The tent was glamorously decorated with golden chairs and tableware, a classic reflection of wealth, prosperity and ultimate beauty. The cake, a two tier wrapped around and fished with golden iced roses. In his speech Kgosi Malope II underscored his contentment and gratitude for the day.
He thanked the bride’s family, Basotho in general for having raised and groomed his wife to being the person that she was.
Kgosi Malope II thanked President Dr Masisi for his presence at the wedding ceremony, adding that the President had been encouraging all Dikgosi to do the right thing and marry.
He further said, he was finally relieved and thankful the queen was now home, something that the tribe had long been longing for. For her part, the bride was thankful to have been introduced to and accepted by Gaseitswe family and was most thankful to Bangwaketse.
Maid of honour, Nthabiseng Malada described the queen as a very humble and most industrious woman who would be able to uplift Bangwaketse.
She implored her to use her talents for the benefit of morafe, adding that she was confident the bride she would deliver.
“Re sia kakapa ya mosadi o o tshwarang thipa ka fa bogaleng. Kanye a e gole. Sechaba ka kakaretso se gole,” she concluded.
Guests at the wedding included Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Lemogang Kwape, Minister of Health Dr Edwin Dikoloti, Minister of Entreprenuership Karabo Gare, Minister of Defence and Security, Kagiso Mmusi, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mabuse Pule.
Also in attendance was Kgosi Lotlaamoreng II of Barolong, Kgosi Kgari Sechele III of Bakwena, Kgosi Mosadi Seboko of Balete, Kgosi Sediegeng Kgamane and Kgosi Mokhutswane Sekgoma who were Bangwato royal representatives, Kgosi Jeff Montshiwa of Barolong Ba Mafikeng as well as Kgosi Leruo Motlotlegi of Bafokeng ba Phokeng.
