 A Seronga born artiste Myeyes Ditirwa has released a five tracked EP dubbed Powerful.

The afro beat album is her second offering which is an infusion of her local language Shiyeyi, Setswana and English with traditional drums.

In an interview, the 30-year-old Ditirwa said she chose to bring a diversity to the music industry in her second offering.

The album which was released end of August this year has songs such as Ldatabe, Wanga, Galalela, Seganana and Kumuzi.

She said the album was different from her debut which was mainly contemporary music. Such as many artistes, she said she has always known that she could sing at a young age as she used to sing at church and has been a backing vocalist for some artistes.

Of recent, she was one of the backing vocalists of Thato Kavinja aka Koolkat Motyiko of ‘Seronga’ tune.

It was however during COVID-19 in  2021 when she  released a solo album and her first album “Lady on a mission” was born.

The seven track album, she said was a form of motivation to people as people were facing many challenges due to COVID-19.

She said while growing up she has learnt that music brought hope to the hopeless and helped fill a gap in people who have no one to talk to therefore she wanted to do the same for her audience.

Ditirwa believes that passion is the essence in the creative arts industry as it helped one to propel even when faced by challenges such as lack of resources.

Her dream was to work with some of the local decorated artistes such as Vee and Charma Gal as well as international artistes.

She said her song Lady on a Mission from her first album has enjoyed airplay on Radio Botswana and her video for Se ka ba neela chance also from the first album has also played on Botswana Television.

She said she has recently dropped her second album to different media houses and expected positive reception.  ENDS
