Pageantry lovers witnessed the crowning of two Junior Miss Botswana queens after a two-year break due to  the pageant in the past two years due to COVID-19.

The pageant held under two categories, under 15 and under 11 years saw 11 year-old Jenna Montshiwa emerging victoriously in her category to be crowned Miss Junior Botswana 2022 queen.

Mercy Serema and Anesha Moreri settled for first and second princess spots respectively.

A total 40 girls took part in the grand finale held at the Sunshine Conference Centre on Sunday. Masa Otsetswe led the under 15 category seconded by Tshepiso Babusi as the first Princess and Boago Nkhwa as the second princess.

Montshiwa walked away with P6 500 clothing voucher from fashion world stores, Brainstream classes worth P3000, and a tablet worth P2000.

Serema got P5 500 clothing voucher, and a tablet worth P2 000 while Moreri won P4 500 clothing voucher and a tablet worth P2 000.

The under 15 queen Otsetswe  walked away with P6 000 clothing vouchers, Brainstream classes worth P3000, a tablet worth P2000 and beauty products worth P500

Babusi walked away with clothing vouchers worth P5000, Tablet worth P2000 and beauty products of P500.

Nkhwa won a P4 000 clothing voucher a tablet worth P2000 and P500 beauty products.

In an interview Madam Queen Modelling Agency Director, Queen Kolobe said the pageant secured P30 000 sponsorship from CB stores.

She said they were happy about the sponsors namely fashion World, Celebrity World, River walk Mall, Choppies and Brainstream company which offers coding classes to children among others.

Kolobe said the pageantry that has been running for nine years was continuing to build the girls confidence and teaching them about self-awareness, Botho and the value of community work.

The Director pleaded with sponsors to help grow the pageantry industry in Botswana since it was molding a girl child to be responsible and to learn the importance of giving back to the community.  ENDS
