 Tonight’s Miss Independence Serowe 2022 pageant is set to spice up this year’s Independence Day celebrations and give locals something different to look forward to. 

Organiser, Janet Phemelo said in an interview recently that the pageant also sought to help build young women’s confidence as well as develop their social skills, poise and personality.

Phemelo said the pageant, pencilled for Serowe College of Education, would see nine ladies tussle for the title.

“I have come up with a beauty pageant like this to give Serowe natives something to look forward to as they will be coming home for the independence holidays,” she explained. 

The contestants are between ages 17 and 31.

Phemelo, who owns Lady Jan Botique, says her clothing store, together with Serowe Eye Care were the only sponsors.

She has created a Facebook page called Miss Independence Serowe 2022 through which public members can get in touch with her to purchase tickets. 

Standard tickets go for P100, double tickets P150 and VIP tickets go for P200. 

Bangwato deputy regent Kgosi Serogola Seretse will officially open the event. Ends
