Peoples Festival September 30

14 Sep 2022

Come Independence Day, all roads will be leading to Nkau Farm in Palapye for the much sort after People’s Festival.

The People’s Festival became an instant hit with local night crawllers, following the reopening of the music industry.

It is the brainchild of local music promoter, Gilbert Seagile of Gilbert Promotions.

The must-attend music festival will once again be headlined by Limpopo-born songstress, Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, fondly known as Makhadzi to her hordes of fans.

The partnership between Makhadzi and Gilbert Promotions had in the past delivered mouthwatering events such as the inaugural People’s Festival at the Molapo Piazza early this year.

The successful event was followed by two sequels in Francistown and Maun before Makhadzi announced her One Woman show, which kick-started at the Royal Aria stadium in Tlokweng.

The award-winning Limpopo-born songstress blew Botswana away on her first appearance at the People’s Festival in March and now the Ma-Yellow bone hitmaker will take Palapye and the surrounding villages by storm.

Undoubtedly, Botswana has shown Makhadzi a warm heart and she has not disappointed in the process either.

Hot on the heels of the People’s Festival, Makhadzi will travel back to Limpopo for the first ever One Woman show on her home soil.

After touring internationally and solidifying her presence on the global stage, Makhadzi will take it back to where it started for her with another electrifying performance billed for Makhuva Stadium in Thohoyandou.

Addressing the media on the details of the independence festival in Gaborone on Tuesday, Seagile said Makhadzi was billed to perform at the Kumndandi Ekhaya Music Festival in Thamaga earlier the same day to allow her to travel to Nkau Farm late afternoon for her final performance of the day.

Seagile said in Palapye, the young Chinese social media sensation Choncho would also be the star attraction.

The talented lad socialite is set to meet Makhadzi on stage.

The Palapye Festival has added South Africa’s Amapiano artistes Paige and Sdala B, Vee, Slizer, Khoisan, Eskimos, Ezra Netheen of Danko fame and Mingo Touch, among others.

In Thamaga, Makhadzi is expected to perform alongside the likes of Master KG and Prince Benza in what has been dubbed the biggest music show ever hosted in the dusty Central District village.

Local acts for the show include Franco and Afro Musica as well as Vee, among others.

As part of corporate social responsibility, Gilbert Promotions handed over tickets to Pilikwe United to put up on sale and benefit 10 per cent from sales proceedings.

Pilikwe United official, Fobby Radipotsane said the team was excited to have a new relationship with the music promoter and hoped for a better future. ENDS
