Miss Independence organisers to crown two Queens

Miss Independence Botswana organisers will crown two queens during the grand finale this month: Miss Independence 2022 and Miss Heritage Global Botswana 2022.
Miss Heritage Global Botswana 2022 celebrates heritage and diverse cultures across the globe.
Pageant Director, Gaonyafele Phuti revealed in an interview with BOPA, during a fashion show at Cresta Lodge on Sunday, that 15 girls would battle it out for the two crowns.
Phuti said the fashion show was part of the prejudging to prepare for the grand finale to take place this month.
She said the pageant was aimed at appreciating Botswana for her drive and growth and it was also for the contestants to celebrate Botswana’s different cultural aspects.
During the fashion show, the aspiring beauty queens were assigned a task of choosing a heritage site to market internationally.
The participants listed Domboshaba, Okavango Delta, Goo Moremi Gorge, Nxai Pan and Tsodilo Hills among others, with most saying they would use social media platforms to let the world know about the beauty of their country.
The aspiring queens paraded in all black for their introductory session, before donning traditional attires.
Fashion show judges included, Model and Top 5 Miss Botswana 2021 contestant, Dr Thanolo Keutlwile and Second Princess Miss independence 2021, Pency Ramatlhape.
Meanwhile, Ramatlhape will compete at the international pageantry at Kalahari Waterfront in Limpopo, South Africa on September 24. ENDS
