Two Miss Botswana hopefuls Lesego Sejai and Alipo Makosha impressed the judges during the Talent and Beauty with a Purpose presentations to secure the first two slots in the pageant’s Top 10.

The two were part of the Top 15 aspirants who made presentations on Saturday in a quest to secure a spot ahead of the Top 10 announcement set for September 12.

Sejai qualified through her beauty with a purpose project while Makosha’s talent presentation earned her the other spot.

In an interview on Monday, one of the organisers, Michelle Phetlhe, who is a coordinator consultant, said Sejai and Makosha were selected after several assessments by the reigning queen Palesa Molefe and former Miss Botswana 2004 Juby Peacock.

All the contestants, she said, had been receiving some trainings as part of the pre pageant activities.

“Recently all the contestants have had the opportunity to network with former queens to learn about the qualities that makes a queen,” she said.

The girls, she said, got an opportunity to have a one on one with former beauty queen, Juby Peacock who tipped them on pageant runway walk.

During her reign, Peacock was among the contestants who were placed highly at the Miss World categories of Top Talent and Top Model.

Miss Botswana 2021 Palesa Molefe also had an opportunity to share her experience from being among last year’s Top 15.

The contestants will on September 3 have the opportunity to have a sport session where they will do aerial yoga.

Samantha Vermeulen for SLV Yoga House will provide them with a fun and challenging yoga experience.

The sport session will be used to select another beauty who will make it in the Top 10.

The coordinator consultant also said on September 10 they would host the head to head challenge where the contestants will display their presentation  skills as well as their thinking and intelligence ability.

She said from this challenge one more contestant would progress to the Top 10 while the rest would be at the mercy of  public votes and other criterias to make it into Top 10. Ends
