29 Aug 2022

Fifteen-year-old Palesa Motsewetsho was selected the fairest of them all to scoop the Miss Teen Botswana title at a glittering finale held in Gaborone on Saturday.

The dazzling teenager from Mmankgodi pocketed a whooping P10 000 for her title, while Rosa Osenotse and Isago Molefe were crowned first and second princesses respectively.

In an interview after the crowning, the ecstatic Palesa said she was thrilled to be crowned Miss Teen Botswana 2022 and looking forward to representing the country at the world spectacle billed for India.

“It still feels like a dream and I’m grateful that my hard work has paid off,” she said.

The winner said she was looking forward to growing her brand, her plans being to reach out to many people across the country to address different issues and also passionate about networking with other beauty queens.

As the reigning queen she said her desire was to motivate her peers to know that they could achieve anything they wanted.

About her project dubbed Palesa’s Caring Sisterhood, which has shaped the way to her victory, she said it was a nonprofit-making organisation, where females were given a sense of belonging.

The Botlhale Cambridge International pupil said her organisation was dealing with period poverty and have been able to donate sanitary pads and sanitary pad dispensers to all the three schools in Mankgodi.

The pageant director, former Miss Botswana 2017/18, Nicole Gaelebale confirmed that the beauty queen would represent Botswana at the Miss Teen International next year in India, where many countries would be taking part.

The pageant had 27 contestants who paraded in swimwear and ball  gowns. ENDS
