Setiko sweeps Gospel Music awards

Gospel music newbie, Boago Setiko dazzled the crowd, bagging six statuettes during the inaugural Gospel Music Awards at Molapo Piazza.
Setiko, who also opened the awards night, scooped Best Gospel Music Video, Best Gospel Album of the Year, Best Female Gospel Artiste, Best Gospel Newcomer, Best Gospel Packaged Album and Best Contemporary Gospel Album.
Shinkie Mochawacha won the big one for the night, Best Gospel Song of the Year with his Moya Waka single.
Mochawacha also scooped the Best Gospel Collaboration with the same single collaborating with Omega Khunou of Spirit Praise.
He closed the night with his performance of his winning song.
The celebrated Ezra Neethings of the Danko hit maker won the Best Gospel Single.
Danko was also nominated in the Best Gospel Song of the Year category as well as in the Best Gospel Collaboration, collaborating with Khoisan and Nimix.
The highlight of the glitz and glamour Gospel awards was Stone BW, who scooped Best Traditional Gospel Album, with his Semphete Lenna album.
Stone BW danced his way to receive the statuette and was lost for words as he tried to express his happiness.
He shared that he had been in the music industry for a long time, focusing on traditional song and dance, but had never achieved anything.
Stone BW said winning the award was a testament that ‘when you work for God, He rewards and blesses gracefully.
Other winners included Obakeng for Best Male Gospel Artiste, We Must Praise for Best Gospel Group/Duo, Mr Allie for Best Gospel Newcomer and Earnest Seakgosing for Best Gospel Producer.
The awards also honoured Mpho Loeto with Best Gospel Legendary Artiste award. ENDS
