16 Aug 2022

Unlike most recent music offerings that have been focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic, Ananius Tshoganetso alias Ananiuz Elohim has released a single Afro pop track dubbed Ke Fitlhe which aspires to restore lost hopes among artistes.

Ke Fitlhe, a heavily messaged single, was produced by DJ Benny Boy at Gaborone’s Angel of Heaven studios and released this month.

Ananiuz Elohim stated in an interview that through the song he aspired to motivate himself and other upcoming artistes not to give up on their dreams despite the difficulties they faced in their daily lives.

The heart-warming and energetic young artiste said had he not exercised patience while being thrown from pillar to post, and considering some of his family members despised the potential that music career carried as a self-empowerment means, he would not have been able to stand as a solo artiste.

“I was turned down several times by those I looked up to for support, and through this single, I wish to share with others that it is possible to reach the pinnacle of any chosen career and that when they encounter difficulties, they should not think of quitting, but rather apply themselves to overcome the obstacles at hand,” he said.

His song also served to remind people that there was always a starting point, which could make it appear difficult to break through, but with patience and determination, it was possible to achieve one’s goals.

After an exposure to the art of singing at the age of nine at church, Ananiuz Elohim chose to continue with the baton and cultivated the music as a source of his livelihood.

He has been inspired by the Khoisan group, ATI and Han C among others.

He stated that the artistes’ command of Setswana explained well that there was more to language use than being spoken and taught at school, it also gave one the courage to take pride in using it creatively.

Before fully settling in as an artiste, he entered the My Star competition in 2018 and made it to the top six, which he treasures because it also cultivated his skills and earned him the desired exposure.

Since then, he has continued to freelance with various groups such as Makau.

His first single production titled Lethabo, which launched him as a solo artiste, was mastered by Dr Tawanda.

Ananiuz Elohim said he had no plans to leave any stone unturned in his efforts to continue nurturing his talent and soaring to greater heights.

In 2020, he competed in the FNB arts competitions dubbed Lentswe lame and was placed second in the Afro pop category.

He is currently working with different artistes and producers for his upcoming EP that is promising nine tracks. BOPA
