Stars of Facebook reality show, Mzansi’s Greatest Family #theNkoanes have expressed gratitude towards Batswana’s affection for the family during their recent visit, where they attended the Mabaila foundation football launch in Mogoditshane.
Speaking in an interview on Monday, the father of the family David Nkoane said they were overwhelmed by the love and affection Batswana had shown towards their Facebook page, amassing more than one million views on their videos.
Nkoane said Batswana had been commenting in numbers on their page for them to visit and when the Mabaila invitation got in they saw it as an opportunity to honour their fans in Botswana.
“We love Batswana so much and they have been supportive by buying our family products and we wish to also open a business here so that we employ them.
We were so touched by the love, some were even crying hugging my wife,” he said.
The idea for them to share with the world their lives on social media, he said, was stirred by the negative content he saw on Facebook about families.
Being used to taking family videos for fun what they do daily, he realised that they needed to take it to the world so that it could change so many people’s misconceptions.
“The era has changed, there shouldn’t be a stumbling blocks between parents and children, they should relate well.
We are raising children for other families, let’s make them ready to be able to relate well with the world and be a blessing to others,”
He also said the new generation knew what they wanted, therefore parents should give them the support to be what they wanted to be.
The social media sensations from Rustenburg; Tebogo Nkoane, the mother, Aobakwe, Kgosi and Motlagabo Nkoane also had this to say in an interview.
The youngest member of the family, Momo, who is seen in videos mostly playing and advertising her family, encouraged her peers in Botswana to go to school, listen to and respect their parents.
She also expressed her love for Botswana and thanked them for their affection.
The fans favourite perceived as the celebrity of the family Kgosi, who has stirred social media with his deep questions to his parents advised his peers to follow their dreams and remember that they were the next generation to make Africa great.
Aobakwe aka Abuti encouraged the youth to follow their passion and remember that their key issue was education.
He said after acquiring qualifications they could pursue what they loved with wisdom.
The mother of the house aka Mommy thanked Batswana for the support, which they showed by buying their VS cream products.
She also advised mothers to continue working hard to fend for their families.
She said it was possible for every mother to achieve what they desired in life.
“I am a mother, wife and a CEO of my own business, so mothers should learn from this and run the race, pray for your families and know that another definition for a woman is prayer.”ENDS
