Nothing went wrong fail happened - Losibe
02 Aug 2022
The much anticipated Ghanzi spectacular meat festival held in Ghanzi on Saturday did not live up to expectations due to poor attendance.
The founder and creative director of Kawa entertainment, Gregory Losibe expressed disappointment with the low turnout of attendees despite proper coordination throughout the preparatory stages of the event.
“We did everything accordingly and even beyond the book. Nothing went wrong, but we failed to attract people,” he said about the event that is commonly known for attracting multitudes of meat lovers from across the country.
He said since Ghanzi had turned into a beehive of entertainment activities over the weekend with revellers spoilt for choice, they probably lost most of their patrons to the Ghanzi invasion music festival.
Despite the financial loss, he said they would go back to the drawing board and devise strategies to rectify their mistakes.
He said the Ghanzi meat festival, which was in its eighth year, had become an established brand and they would have to work hard to protect and maintain its existence.
Losibe said he was determined to promote the Ghanzi region which is known for beef, potatoes and tourism. ENDS
He said they would adapt to the wave of changes by expanding their target group to include the youth.
“We will also cease from hosting the event alongside the agricultural show, but consider a different month for it to gain momentum,” he said. ENDS
