Miss Global Botswana appreciates pageant

The virtual Miss Global 2021 competition has been an eye opener for Botswana queen, Sakshi Bhargava.
The final is billed for Indonesia in June.
In an interview, Bhargava said the competition, which started in February, enabled her to gain exposure and insights on various countries.
The beauty queen said being part of the competition made her a stronger person.
“Although I competed virtually, I have had so much support on social media and through various stakeholders as well which I will always be grateful for,” she said.
She said, through Botswana supporters’ votes, the country was in fourth position.
“I had a lot of people rallying for me and I just want to thank each and every person who voted for me,” she said.
Bhargava said she had decided to compete in the virtual section since the pageant had been postponed three times.
“Ever since August last year, I have had to put very important things such as my school life to a pause and this time I decided that I had to put myself first to do it only virtually as COVID-19 is still unpredictable,” she said.
The said the contestants’ virtual journey had been a learning curve for her.
Her virtual submissions included various challenges through her social media platforms such as the runaway, no make-up, Act of kindness, magazine cover challenge and her five-year project.
She expressed delight to have managed to be in the pageant’s top 10 for the Miss Goodwill category. Even though she did not win.
Over 80 contestants will compete for the Miss Global 2022 title, a pageant that gears to empower women and give them a voice to speak up. Ends
