Taste of Mokwena tomorrow
24 Mar 2022
Revellers will tomorrow be treated to traditional cuisine and music during an event dubbed Taste of Mokwena at Dome Springs Gardens Molepolole.
In an interview, organiser of the event, Pako Mosimanegape of Abicus Projects Company, said this would be first of its kind.
The intention is to promote talent, food and fashion in the locality to boost existing businesses since most of them suffered losses since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.
With a traditional theme to go alongside the cultural aspect of the event, invitees were expected to don either leteisi, traditional or African attire.
In organising this event, he said, one of his objectives was to promote upcoming artistes.
He also intended to make it an annual event.
Furthermore, he was hoping that the event would change the social landscape of Molepolole.
Mosimanegape said among the big names to headline the event was renowned poet Moroka Moreri, Kwena Madiba tradional dance group and Segalaupa traditional troupe.
Traditional cuisine ranging from oxtail, seswaa, bogobe jwa lerotse, morogo wa Setswana and many other traditional dishes will be served.
The event, he said, would be in two parts; the first part of the day until evening will be cultural where attendants would be treated to traditional music and food while the rest of the evening targeted night crawlers who will be served with music from various DJs until late.
Part of the proceeds made from the event will be used to help the needy that will be identified by social workers. Ends
