Ubuntu Band enthralls revellers

Ubuntu Band and Malome Vector’s Performance at African Attire on Fleek on Saturday was by far the best for the night as they kept revellers on their feet.
The line up included many artists and Djs, who kept revellers busy on the dance floor, but it was the three-member Ubuntu Band’s performance of the Mangoane hit that enthralled the audience.
Malome Vector warmed the stage with his hit songs, but it was when Ubuntu Band joined him on stage for the Mangoane smash hit that the stage went abuzz with energy as they gelled and complimented each other.
“We are amazed at the love from fans especially how they vibe to Mangoane,” Ubuntu Band said in an interview after their performance. They explained that initially Vector was interested in remaking their Ngwana Mosetsana hit, but they worked on something new.
“Vector saw us online and contacted us,” they said about their meet with Lesotho artist, adding that he then sent through the beat.
The talented trio promised their fans big things. However they could not disclose much. “We are working on something big and we have definitely spread our wings out to the world,” they said.
PJ Powers also gave a magical show. The fans showed her love when she performed one of her biggest hits Jabulani.
Her first concert since COVID-19 lockdowns, PJ Powers said it was the best for her as it had been years since she staged a show in Gaborone.
“Am grateful for the love and support of Batswana and this is the best place I could have come to after the lockdowns,” said PJ Powers after her performance.
She also sang praises to the locally assembled band, saying they ‘were absolutely amazing to work with.’
Other acts included Kelly Khumalo, Big Zulu, Ditiro, and Dr Vom. Opening the show was a Xhosa performance by a small group of Xhosas from Bikwe in the Southern region.
They performed their cultural song and dance and explained that they perform at ceremonies.
Dressed to the nines in their colourful African designed outfits, Fleekers lived to the event expectation, with their fashionable attires.
The new Xhosa experience also saw many dressed in various Xhosa designs and honouring the newly added theme to the event.
The African Attire on Fleek is a lifestyle event staged by Colourful People Entertainment, which seeks to promote cultural exchange through attire and knowledge as well as encouraging youth to embrace and celebrate their culture through cultural gear. Ends
