Pj Powers Malome Vector for AAOF

10 Mar 2022

South Africa’s legendary PJ Powers will this Saturday perform at the African Attire on Fleek (AAOF) show at Grand Aria stadium in Tlokweng.

She will perform alongside Lesotho’s Malome Vector, her fellow countrymen Big Zulu and Kelly Khumalo with Botswana local performers on the day.

Powers expressed delight about her performance on her social media Facebook page saying “at last, really looking forward to being at a festival in Gaborone with @kellykhumaloza the Fantastic @bigzulu_sa and a host of other great acts.”

A live performer of old time and favourite to many, Powers will be performing with a locally assembled band. “We have organised a band of locals as per her request, and she will be rehearsing with the band this Friday (March 11),” explained David ‘52’ Letshwiti of Colourful People Entertainment. 52 said the gesture will also give local musicians a chance at skills transfer with Powers, as she is a legendary and veteran in the game of live performance.

Malome Vector also confirmed his attendance and performance to his fans at AAOF on his Instagram, simply urging fans to come in numbers and dressed to the nines to have a good time. Fans will be looking forward to his hit song ‘Mangoane’ which is in collaboration with local, Ubuntu Band.

Furthermore, 52 said they believe all artists are vaccinated and will adhere to Botswana’ new COVID -19 protocols regulations. He promised revelers of AAOF an experience of a lifetime, despite staging an expensive show which had no sponsors.

“We will give our patrons the best, and we appeal to sponsors for support in future as organising an event of this magnitude is expensive,” said ‘52’ expressing disappointment at lack of support to the entertainment industry by stakeholders.

He further urged local artists scheduled to perform to honour their timeslots, saying failure to do so will result on penalties. He said failure to honour timeslots by local acts messes the schedule, resulting on international acts having to perform late. Therefore he said they will take necessary steps to those who do not honour times in addition to not giving them a slot altogether.

He said they will only allow delays as a result of technical glitches. ENDS
