Batswana are confident that Miss Botswana Palesa Molefe will shine at the Miss World grand finale pencilled for San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 16.
The beauty queen and her entourage leaves today and will visit the Okavango Diamond Company (ODC) museum in New York on their way to the global spectacle.
BOPA caught up with Miss Botswana spokesperson Pauline Dikuelo prior to the queens departure. She said they appreciated some Batswana who would accompany the queen at their own expense.
This, she said would motivate Miss Botswana.
Rapper and fashion trendsetter Bokang Proctor of collections by bkproctor said Palesa had demonstrated that she is a cut above the rest and should always remember that the beauty of a woman is not in the physical but the reflection of her soul. “She has done it, with or without a crown, she is already a winner. She should allow God to go ahead of her,” Proctor said.
Former Miss Botswana judge, talent developer, celebrity makeup artist and brand strategist Tlhomamo Diamond alias Guru congratulated Palesa for making it this far in the pageant. “I hope she appreciates herself for how she has come.
She has carried herself well through-out the different seasons of her reign,” said. He said the queen displayed strength during the challenging times of her reign.
“My theory is that if you look confident, you can pull off anything. The world is her oyster, she must go out there and the crown home. All the best to her,” Diamond said.
Songstress Samantha Mogwe said she was happy for her, and that it was God’s plan and timing that she made it this far. “She is an amazing woman, absolutely gorgeous and intelligent.”
Mogwe said Batswana was were proud of Palesa proud of her.
Former Miss Botswana 2006/7 Malebogo Marumoagage said Palesa should continue being authentic, a beautiful thing to watch.
“So far she has done beautifully and I wish her the best as she leaves for the finale. We are proud of her and hope she brings the crown home,” said the director of Excellence Acute Solutions Consultants.
She said more than anything she said she hoped that she did not only enjoy herself, but made connections and friendships, making the most of this once in a life time opportunity to represent Batswana at such a grand stage. ENDS
