He appealed to other artistes to continue the legacy Maburu left. Known for his passion for music and also had the interest in seeing the music  industry operating in a  more professional way.

Maburu’s manager Inspector Mocks, described him as a prolific artiste, whose character won the hearts of many.

He said in the three years he has been working with him, he saw a unique artiste, who was different from many.

“In the 15years I have been in the industry I have never seen an artiste bring the crowd to tears like Maburu. His music was anointed as it appealed to all ages and classes.”

Mocks said for the years he had worked with Maburu he realised that his music was so popular than him as a person, hence promoters hardly roped him in their lineups. He said while some promoters did not know him, they were however familiar with his music. The manager said Maburu’s music had found home in South African radio stations and said they were in talks with Martin Khupe for the artiste to entertain during ANC political rallies.

He said they intended to embark on some shows in the neighbouring country.

Mocks said they were still working on his third offering that was supposed to be released later this year.

He said his demise was not only a loss to the family, but the industry as he still had a lot to offer.

Mocks said he would always maintain that he did not get the honour for an artiste of his caliber, hence his dream was to help him penetrate international music scenes.

According to Thabo Sebulelo, her 31 year old brother, Maburu had undergone an operation on the head prior to his demise.

She said the untimely departure of her brother was a great loss to the family and fellow music enthusiasts.

Jelinah Mokgwatlheng going by the stage name Khumagari Selonyana who was raised in one family with Maburu said she was still struggling to come to terms with his death. She said death had deprived her a close cousin, adding that Maburu would not produce any song without consulting her for the advice.

Bonang Mokgwatlheng also his cousin who doubles as  Maburu promoter said  he was a fountain of unique Bakgalagadi folklore music which he said was rich in culture. He said Maburu had produced 2 albums and was working on the third one. He also said Maburu had produced 4 singles.
