Mpofu pens The wait My Confession

31 Jan 2022

In life people get into relationships for love and  reasons.

While most want lifetime partners out of their affairs, unhealthy relationships have proved to be not for the faint hearted, as evidenced by what has been shared on various media platforms. While

COVID-19 seems to have added salt to the wound, many would admit that the problem has been in existence, though such has been under wraps until recent times, when victims are taking the bull by the horns.

One such is Yvonne Mpofu.

Driven by her ‘mjolo’ experience, the 31-year-old Mpofu has penned an 182-page Christianity book titled The wait ‘My Confession’.

The book was launched on Friday in Gaborone by Pastor Khulekani Khupe.

Although the launch did not attract a big crowd, it proved to be a good night for a sizeable audience, who made it to the event.

Mpofu, a SHE officer, said the title of her book was inspired by tracks of her life journey and experiences she encountered while dating.

“My confession is a dare to the world that I have become open and vulnerable and ready to walk in restoration and wholeness, yet still becoming,” she said.

She started off venting into a piece of paper and eventually had the courage to compile a book.

The book targets those still cocooned in frustrating relationships to help them make informed decisions in regards to dating.

The book also intended to give light and advise to those who are single and looking forward to dating and relationships that will ultimately lead to a Godly marriage.

It also answeres those who still wonder what Christianity dating is all about and emphasises on waiting upon God, especially when time seems to be passing by.

Through the book, Mpofu shared wisdom in regards to waiting for the right person, the right time and the right purpose to date in a biblical way.

All chapters are scripted in a candid and authentic manner and have biblical quotes for referencing.

Mpofu is a living testimony that with God nothing is impossible; it only took her 12 days to write down all that she wanted to share with the world.

“I started off this book as a joke after being hurt several times. In 2017 I wrote only one page and in 2020 I wrote three pages as a confession, but in 2021 when I though I had healed from all the misery,

God spoke to me. I went on a 12-day fasting, during which period I gained strength and all ideas came flowing,” she said.

On the 12th day, she wrapped up all the content she had penned down, and she believed all was possible because of the will of God.

The Wait ‘My Confession’ is a suitable read for both the young and the old, to help the reader introspect and understand what they want instead of relying on the information from movies and the internet on issues of dating.

Reading it will encouraged one not to blame anyone for their failed relationship, but to establish the reasons why it failed.

The writer indicates that sometimes there are signs, such as having rushed into a relationship or having compromised themselves to stay in relationships that are not designated for them.

Mpofu’s father, Takura Mugwangi described his daughter as a humble individual, able to interact with people from different walks of life both minors and elders.

He said his daughter believed in setting her own principles and never rested until she achieved all that she had planned to.

Guests were treated to dynamic performances of gospel melodies by Neo Gaufiwe and a poem by Mufudzi Chihambakwe, who fellowships with Mpofu at Celebration Church in Gaborone. ENDS
