Modiri Ndweza is a man of many talents, from author, teacher to motivational speaker.

The 22-year-old  Kavimba native is founder of Chobe Has It (CHASIT) magazine, a Chobe based self-sponsored African tourism, arts and culture magazine.

He is also the founder and owner of Word Invasion Academy, a tuition centre that operates in Kasane, Gaborone and Palapye and which through the assistance of a group of students from universities as BIUST and UB published a series of BGCSE revision books.

He established  Word Invasion Academy, in 2019 with an aim to send youth back to school and keep them off the streets.

Speaking in an interview with BOPA, Ndweza said he finished Form 5 in 2017 at Nata Senior Secondary School and decided to take a gap year after failing to secure a university admission.

It was then that he began motivational speaking in local schools following which, he said, he published his first book titled I’ve Been Half Way To The Future, in 2019, the same year he published the first edition of CHASIT magazine, which received articles from Sudan, Egypt and Malawi and was doing well until COVID-19 reared its ugly head and forced it to pause.

Ndweza said the academy had assisted many youth to re-sit and pass exams and go back to school, adding that he planned to secure scholarships for such pupils, to enable them to further their education at tertiary institutions.

He said he had given motivational speeches to pupils of Kavimba primary and LiswNaani 1 junior secondary.

Ndweza said he finally got space in 2020, to study Bachelor of Science general, at the University of Botswana where he schooled for the first two semesters before moving on to study BSC in Pharmacy which he said was currently doing online due to COVID-19 pandemic, with China Pharmaceutical University.
