Maun comedy lovers were treated to an early Christmas over the weekend, as local comedians dished unique standup acts.

 

Acacia Café was an oasis of laughter and giggles as comedians in the likes of Obza Modidima, Ouza Moratiwa and Tshukudu dished out their funnies and most acclaimed jokes.

 

The funny men did not hold back as they had the crowd laughing as soon as they walked onto the stage, until the curtain fell.

 

The gifted Modidima warmed up the crowd by satirically poking fun about Botswana’s queen at the Miss World and promoting the Ngamiland traditional delicacy, tswii.

 

He encouraged the community to eat it, saying it was healthy. His act continued to stir up laughter as it resonated well with the crowd, who seemed to be enjoying his silly jokes, spiced with his provocative comments and kinky laughter.

 

Other comedians did not disappoint either, as they kept the comic momentum up, while showcasing their own unique skills in relaying real life messages and doing their best to keep it clean, but funny.

 

Shitah displayed a unique and electrifying humour that kept the crowd laughing, especially his ‘current affairs’ jokes, focusing his energy on some celebrities’ shaky relationships and how they were mended. 

 

In an interview, the show organiser, Shitah commended the audience and comedians for making the event successful, adding that they met their objective of giving some of the seasoned as well as  upcoming comedians exposure, as most were still reeling from the effects of COVID-19.

 

He said the show also provided the audience the much needed comic relief, as the pandemic had brought devastating effects on communities.

 

Shitah also revealed that local comedians acclaimed the show and promised to meet time and again to see how they could make it grow bigger and better.

 

Modidima appreciated Shitahfor bringing them under one roof, saying the show promoted team spirit that local comedians lacked. ENDS
