Where to catch them this festive

With the festive season already in full swing, many are looking forward to celebrating, following last year’s sombre mood due to restricted movements intended to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Those in the entertainment industry did not want to miss out on the opportunity as they have lined up events to celebrate with fans. 

BOPA caught up with some of the local artistes who shared their activities for the festive season.

Traditional music sensational, Kabelo Mogwe of Culture Spears, who goes by the stage name Kulenyane promised a fun- filled performance at the annual Ke wa Boteti music festival in Mmatshumo. 

Ke wa Boteti music festival, a brainchild of Mogwe, is an appreciation event by the talented artistefor the support he received from his home village. 

“This is also to show the village youth that one can excel in any chosen area despite growing up in a remote area,” he said.

The line up includes Kwasa Kwasa star Franco, Culture Spears, Charma Gal and others. 

South Africa Disco star Silindile will also be featured. 

DJ La Timmy of Nazala Vuke fame will also perform alongside Makhadzi and other local artistes including Charma Gal, born Magdeline Losolobe and Team Distance at the People’s Festival in Maun on December 22. 

He will also entertain audience at Good Hope, Bobonong, and Tsetsebjwe.

Charma Gal will also have revellers dancing to the tune of her music at the Home Coming festival scheduled for December 22 in Mahalapye.  

The talented Mosakaso dancer is also billed for the Born and Raised festival in Serowe on December 24.

Thamaga residents and those from neighbouring villages will have a treat from Franco at Thamaga Chillas festival.  

Also scheduled to perform at the event is Dj Black, Fondo Faya, Tika Poo and Tyte.

Franco will also be part of the Ku mba na Makhadzi festival to be held at Domboshaba in the North East on December 23.

The people’s favourite,  Odirile Santo aka Vee of Ra Dumalana fame will be engaged in a number of activities including the Bobirwa Festival punch.

Meanwhile, the President of Botswana Music Union, Phemelo Lesokwane encouraged continuous adherence to COVID-19 safety measures. ENDS
