Born and Raised Wednesday

19 Dec 2021

With only a few days before the popular, Born and Raised annual music festival, many can hardly wait for the D-Day which is December 22.

For many revelers, the festive season would be incomplete without the festival that marks five years of existence and is a major calendar event in Serowe.

As usual, the event will be held at Serowe Sports Complex but this year, organisers have notched things up and introduced a helicopter ride package at a cost of P1 000 for 20 minutes.

Apart from enjoying the festival from up above, riders will get the chance to view some heritage sites.

This year’s slogan, # A Go Nne se se Nnang, promises a fun filled event that will however, not neglect health and safety precautions.

The festival’s marketing manager, Bella Kgotla told BOPA that they had collaborated with Men for Health and Justice Organisation, to encourage men to test for HIV.

To encourage many to come forth and test, the festival organisers have promised to give tickets to men who test.

She said they had also partnered with TRUST condoms to give free tickets to those buying TRUST Condoms.

This, she said, was to encourage safe sex.

Kgotla said SHE officers would be on the ground to ensure adherence to COVID-19 protocols and air evacuation services for any medical emergencies would also be available.

She said G4S security services and Botswana Police Service (BPS) would ensure the safety of attendees and expressed gratitude to BPS for continued support.

International acts expected include Amifaku, Zakes Bantwini, Sir Trill, De Mthuda and Sun El Musician while locals include Vee, Charmagal, Franco and Bafana Ba and some local DJs.

Tickets are available nationwide at Liqourama and Choppies stores at P200 each.

VIP tickets sell for P 1 500 and are available online. ENDS
