Comedy fans are in for a special treat this weekend, as Maun renowned comedians head to Acacia Cafe, at Nhabe Museum for a show that promises to be such a thriller that it would be remembered for years.

The comedy night, organised by Sendimba Shitah, also known as Yellowbone in the comedy circles, will feature other comedians in the likes of Omphile Johane, popularly known as Modidima, Gaokanyetswe

Ouza Morataiwa, the famous social media star, Tecsion Bw and Costa wa Mapana, among others.

In an interview, Shitah explained that the stand-up comedy show would be the first of its kind and it would bring together all Maun comedians under one roof to portray their talents and skills.

He said the December 17 event would give seasoned and upcoming comedians exposure as some were still reeling from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some, he said, had never staged or been invited to participate in big events since the end of the State of Emergency, hence the show would give them a platform to interact and see how best they could work together going forward.

Shitah also stated that the show would have material for attendees of all ages as it is also meant to empower comedians to rise above their challenges and lead happy healthy lives.

The COVID-19 pandemic, he said, had brought devastating effects on communities and they were trying to share a message of healing, restoration and hope through humour.

He appealed to members of the community to support the show in large numbers, saying comedy played an important role in mental health and helped people heal and move on from whatever their past experiences were. ENDS
