The duo dubbed Scorpion Kings, will rock the stage alongside Botswana’s William Last KRM popularly known as Motsetserepa, Sir Trill, Zakes Bantwini, La Timmy and other local acts.
The highlight of the show will be an early performance of Dj Maphorisa, Sir Trill and Motsetserepa who are expected to perform before 6pm.
According to Pretty Girls Love Amapiano artists’ time slots, the Yini Sdakwa hitmaker and also featured in John Wick hit song, Sir Trill will perform at 2:30pm followed by Dj Maphorisa at 3:15pm.
Motsetserepa who has recently bagged two nominees for the 2021 South African Hip Hop Awards (SAHHAs) scheduled for December 10, will hit the stage at 5:30pm.
The Tinto hit maker has his name on Best Remix award nominations for the song 018’s Finest (Remix)’ with Boity, 25k, Towdee Mac and Venom, as well as Best International Act award which is perhaps the biggest one, which he is battling for with Sarkodie of Ghana, Little Simz from United Kingdom, Ye from the United States of America as well as Drake from Canada.
The SAHHAs is the biggest celebration of Hip Hop on the African continent and they showcase artists who stood above the rest with their artistic innovations.
The multi-talented Scorpion Kings are celebrated and recognised for their formidable contribution to growth of the Amapiano genre as DJs, record producers and artistes.
The two have released albums together and their directory boasts impressive smash hits such as ‘Koko’, ‘Lorch’ and ‘Banyana’ just mention a few.
Speaking about the long awaited change in performances particularly by headline acts, the show organiser Godwin ‘Exzotic’ Sebina of Exzozo Entertainment said the event was a Sunday picnic vibe which he promised would give patrons value for their money.
“It is actually a day event starting at 10am and we are teaching people a culture of day events by providing headline acts perform during the day,” he said.
However, Exzotic noted that other headline acts would be performing at night, ‘to give those who might have missed the day’s performance to also enjoy the show and get value for their money.’
He also noted that going forward, they will be organising shows in a similar way as they strive to cater for both day and night patrons.
Meanwhile Osama hitmaker Zakes Bantwini will hit the stage at 9pm, Kabza De Small at 10pm while La Timmy will entertain his fans at 11pm followed by the surprise act. ENDS
