Kwaito lovers will be taken down memory lane during Legends in Concert Bw that will attract Kwaito’s finest artistes at Notwane Lifestyle Club on November 26.

The Kwaito night will attract the South African Kwaito legends Mdu Masilela alias Chomi Yabana or The Godfather and Arthur Mafokate.

The duo is known as some of the pioneers of Kwaito music genre, and made headlines in the 90s for unleashing sizzling albums when Kwaito was the in thing.

The Godfather rose to stardom with his song Tsiki Tsiki while other Arthur rose to fame with Oyi Oyi and Zombo among others.

Arthur who owns a record label 999 groomed a number of Kwaito stars.  

During a media briefing on Monday, the event Organizer Lecco Kenosi said Mdu and Nathi Mankayi will be performing live on the night.

“Mafokate’s daughter Owami an award winning DJ will also be performing with his dad,” he said.

He also said local artistes such as DJ Boogie Sid, apex Guru and Unikattraction will also perform on the night.   

“The event will also feature Botswana’s legends such as T.H.A.B.O, Exodus, DJ Kyle, DJ Doms and Miss Lau’ra. He said.

Kenosi said the entertainment industry has had a rough patch for the past two years due to COVID 19 and this would be Legends in Concert‘s first big gig since the pandemic.

The concert organisers promises to take revelers back to the yesteryears while affording the millennials and Generation Z an opportunity to have a taste of 90s music.

Kenosi also assured revelers surprise performances during the night.

The concert’s sponsors include Sefalana, Notwane lifestyle club, Security company and Air Botswana who confirmed that they will be flying South African legends for free. ENDS
