Botswana Colour run is back

04 Nov 2021

The University of Botswana Stadium will host this year’s vibrant paint race; the colour run.

The race, which promotes health and fun, while raising money for charity, is back after it was postponed last year due to COVID-19.

The Regional director, Ernest Ziramba said in an interview that the sixth edition of the event,  slated for November 27, would cater for colour run enthusiasts, who purchased tickets last year.

He said lovers of the race should also expect more fun than the past years, stressing that the 5km marathon was not a competition, but just a fun run.

He said the partakers would get splashed from head to toe in a different coloured powder at every colour station, hence the name colour run.
Ziramba said the fun about the game was the use of the white colour shirt because after being splashed with different colours the participants look funny and they love it.

He said the sale of tickets was ongoing, adding that it was a bargain since it includes a goodie bag consisting of a white t-shirt, a mask and a sanitizer.

The director said the event also would also feature local companies who will be marketing their products and services.

He said due to limited time and other COVID-19 restrictions, this year’s colour run would only be hosted in Gaborone, under the theme: ‘Super Hero Tour’. Ends
