Hey Nyenas jokes gain fame on social media

Even in the bad, there sometimes comes out good. Take for example the proliferation of social media comedians during COVID-19 lockdown measures.
They gave many a weary and lonely soul a reason to laugh if only for a moment.
Hey Nyena is one such who came to the rescue of a sombre and terrified humanity as represented by Batswana. His real names, Theo Bome, he made an excellent job of leaving his viewers in stiches.
The petit comedian and soft spoken comedian has a roaring 129 218 followers on facebook and more than 100 000 fans on Tik Tok!
What is suprising is that this rib cracker would no sooner crawl back into his shell upon meeting strangers- could it be he was overwhelmed by this towering daughter of a pen.
The 28-year-old entertainer hails from Kanye hence his unmistakable Nyena dialect. An equivalent of “whats up?!” the phrase is expressed in a clipped naughty and curt fashion. As can be expected with today’s generation, his fans have taken to mimicking him on Tik Tok.
It all started when he made a simple joke praising different alcohol brands on social media. That joke became so popular he soon found himself doing more and more jokes and surpassing follower expectations, even scaling Botswana’s border into South Africa, specifically Rustenburg where he has performed.
He has also enjoyed numerous radio interviews in South Africa.
And he makes for an excellent master of ceremonies who is highly sought after. His skill as an MC has earned monicker Entertainment Chairman.
The funny man says a number of companies are interested in having him market their brand. Who would not someone with a hundred thousand followers? Recently he had fans eating from his palm as an MC at Makhadzi’s show.
“I appreciate the love people give me and the support has been amazing,” he says.
By the look of things he would be a squirrel in a sack full of nuts this festive season, given the countless number of products he is already advertising.
His latest joke is his moritorium on love relationships in favour of beer durin the festive season.
The humorist’s career focus is not only comedy. His aim is to impart his make-me-laugh and confidence skills to other young people. “In the near future I want to start a public speaking academy,” he says.
His advise to other entertianers is to never give upas eventually something will give.
“See I lost my job last year, but here I am having found purpose which I must add comes also from above.” ENDS
