Sakshi Bhargava will represent Botswana at the Miss Global 2021 pageantry billed for Bali, Indonesia.

Speaking during the Miss Global Botswana launch on Saturday, Bhargava said she entered the Miss Global Organisation after she learnt that it allowed contestants to register individually.

She said she then submitted her credentials for review and after meeting the set qualification standards, the organisers accepted her to represent Botswana

The 19-year-old beauty said she started pageantry at a young age, a trait validated by being crowned Junior Miss Botswana second princess in 2016 and Miss Teen Hope first princess in 2017.  

Miss Global Botswana, who was born and bred in Francistown, said pageantry was overrated therefore she wanted to show the world and Batswana that her passion for pageantry had given birth to an organisation, which was making a different in people living with disabilities.

 The beauty queen has founded a Non-Governmental Organisation, The Able Hearts Foundation in 2017. 

The organisation helps people living with disabilities. 

“I wanted to be a voice for the voiceless,” she said. 

She said the Francistown-based organisation worked with the Francistown Centre for the Deaf, Education and the Lephoi Centre for the visually impaired.

“In our efforts to make it a nationwide event, we recently moved to the south and have engaged with the Mochudi Resource Centre for the blind,” she said.

She said her organisation also wanted to teach people that all people were equal including those with disabilities.

She said the world was a better place for everyone despite being created differently and for a special purpose.  

Director of Diamond Pageantry Academy, who was crowned Miss Global Botswana in 2012 and also represented the country at Miss World Botswana in 2017, Nicole Gaelebale said she had no doubts that Bhargava would represent Botswana well at the Miss Global pageant.

Gaelebale said she had always admired Bhargava for her love for the people.  

Upon realising her humanitarian spirit, Gaelebale said she then asked her to become a brand Ambassador for her academy, which was aimed at nurturing beauty queens such as her. ends
