Ytv to air EPL live this season
12 Aug 2021
Viewers of the Ytv station will for the second season, starting Saturday, watch the English Premier League (EPL) live, says the Ytv managing director, Dumi Lopang.
Addressing the media in Gaborone on Wednesday August 11, Lopang explained that the EPL live broadcast for the first season was aired in August last year, adding that he was happy that KFC would continue to be the main sponsor.
For her part, Ytv general manager, Rykie Wade said EPL was the highlight of the tv station and was also happy that they were bringing a variety of entertainment options especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She said the station, which rebranded from eBotswana in September last year, would offer Batswana an array of high quality locally-generated content, which would include culture and lifestyle among others.
For viewers to access Ytv, she said, they should purchase a Zebra decoder or any free-to-air decoder or set-top box and also subscribe to UPIC TV, where Ytv streams as well.
Wade said Ytv had allowed the majority of its workforce, being the youth to partake in the Ytv content generation, script writing, voicing, airing and other key elements of the production process to inject an entirely different atmosphere into the entertainment arena.
Wade is hopeful that families and friends will enjoy and watch EPL at the comfort of their homes. ENDS
