While others plough back to their respective communities by donating toiletries and food hampers, Cendric Senna, one of the top models in the country, has decided to give his services for nothing by bringing modelling to Selebi Phikwe.

The 29-year-old, staged named Senna, will be collaborating with top international models to give aspiring models in Selebi Phikwe what he termed modelling runway coaching and grooming classes, an initiative that is geared towards addressing the high demand for model mentors and trainers especially in the northern side of the country.

With a lot of experience he has in the modeling industry, the 1.97 metres tall model believes he has what it takes to unearth modeling talent in Selebi Phikwe.

“I have collaborated with different fashion houses to instill confidence in models especially those who are new into this industry,” he said.

In addition to local models, photographers, videographers and fashion designers, Senna will be working alongside international models in the likes of Martin Macondzo from Mozambique and Bobby Kaanjosa of Namibia to make the initiative a success.

The modeling classes will be offered on weekends to boys and girls aged 13 and above at Makhubu club’s Neutral and Fit Gym who have availed the venue.  

All Models, he said were expected to come dressed to impress with females expected to wear strappy of stiletto heels.

“Anyone can be a model so I urge the youth to come and take advantage of this opportunity,” he said. After an intensive training on modelling, Senna said models would be referred to various modeling agencies depending on the type of models they aspired to become for further training as well as help market them to the international modeling arena.

On this one Senna will be working with local top models in the likes of Thanolo Keutlwile and Thabang Mmolotsi as well as international brands like Macondzo of Mozambique to give the male and female models an opportunity to explore the international modeling stage.

Senna shot to fame after winning the best male model during Presidential fashion show awards and has also made his name as a make-up artist, very much known for his peerless facial beats.

“I am adamant that this initiative is going to be a success and I am anticipating positive support from Selebi Phikwe community,” he said.

He believed that modeling had the potential to create employment for the youth as well as market Botswana internationally and as such all stakeholders like government, private sector and the nation at large should support initiatives such as this one.

He promised that all covid protocols would be followed without fail during training. ENDS
