09 Jun 2021

Tlhwafalang Tebogo alias Dj Twaza is on a comeback mission with a 15-track house album titled Testify, following a 11-year hiatus.

In an interview with BOPA recently, DJ Twaza said he had been absent since 2010, following the release of his debut gospel album Gaufi le Morena, which did not do well, thus forcing him to take a break from the industry to introspect.

He said he worked with different local and South Africa DJs and also featured different local artists, hence the songs were produced in different studios around Gaborone.

He said he worked with DJ Call Me of Mama I am sorry and Marry me my love fame, DJ Musik Sa, Bayor and King Monado, both from South Africa as well also collaborating with local DJs Bino and KSB among others.

Dj Twaza said before releasing his album, he had a listening session in April to hype the audience and also get feedback, adding that he was hopeful that the album would be well received.

He said the album’s message was on everyday life challenges to give hope to those facing  challenges.

DJ Twaza said some songs are in Setswana, while others were in isiZulu to cater for some of his fans across the border.

He said through the title track Testify, he intended to share his testimony that through God, everything was possible and his timing was always right, no matter how long it might take for one to receive their breakthrough. He said the song also expressed that God does things when people least expect it.

He said track number five titled Jona was a house gospel track that seeks to encourage praying.

Meanwhile, Dj Twaza said the music industry was not for the faint-hearted, recalling one incident, where he was closed out by some seasoned artists when he sought some advice. However, he said , he never allowed that to dampen his spirit, as he crossed the border to South Africa to ask for assistance. Ends
