Tsholofelo Gomotsang alias Tsholo in the entertainment industry says becoming a seasoned church choir singer has encouraged her to drop an eight track album titled Ntate Keho Tshepile.

Tsholo and Ndoda Ntshwarang wrote the album song while the hymns were arranged by Tsholo, and the album was fully produced by Kitso Machaudza and recorded by Nice Cut Productions.

Speaking during an inclusive interview with BOPA on Monday, the The 38-year-old gospel singer said Ntshwarang was her backing vocal for all the eight tracks.

The album was released on February 22, and it is being distributed in  Gaborone, Palapye and Selibe Phikwe.
Tsholo said Batswana have welcomed her music with lots of requests for the album coming from different parts of Botswana.

The gospel singer said she was considering increasing distributions centres across Botswana to avail the album.

The album tracks include Tlhokometse, a UCCSA hymn song while Qhoboshiane and Ntate Ke go Tshepile are from the Zion Hymn Book.

Other tracks are Ohh morena, Maatla a Modimo, and Ke maketse hela.

Tsholo said teachings from the Bible helped her in the songs composition. Jesu o rile re tla mo latela is an old song that used to be sung by congregants at churches and pupils during school assemblies, she added.

She also noted that her wish to release the gospel music grew during the lockdown period last year, when she realised the whole nation needed gospel music to heal the lost soul due to extreme social distancing.

“Becoming the youth singer at church made me stand strong and have a dream of delivering my message through gospel,” she said.

Tsholo noted during the extreme social distances that she used to receive calls to come to render her music to the sick either at hospital or homes, stating that it encouraged her to produce an album.

Furthermore, Tsholo has said she became part of clap and tap music community based in Gaborone noting that it was when she realised she has a talent.

She noted that she used the hymn songs because most Batswana love such songs and they relate well with them to heal their broken souls. ENDS
