Neelo Gopolang has pocketed a whooping P100 000 cash prize for being My Star Talent Search Show season 14 winner during the show’s grand finale on Wednesday.

Gopolang, who was pitted against equally talented Justice Nyathi and Queen Gaarekwe, amassed 70 856 public votes, seconded by Nyathi with 2 497 while Gaarekwe garnered 2 300 public votes becoming the second run up.

Due to lack of sponsorship, the two runner ups would have walked home empty handed however the show’s inventor, Keabetswe ‘Master Dee’ Sesinyi offered to give each of them P10  000 as a token of appreciation for their commitment and dedication displayed throughout the show.

Meanwhile, when young and talented Gopolang took to the stage, she gave a chirpy performance and she had the audience eating from the palm of her hands, and they reciporated by giving her a standing ovation, cheering while some sang along with her.

To add cheery on top, she brought along dancers, which spurred her to unleash her dazzling dance moves that left audience calling for more.
Gopolang could not contain her excitement when she was announced the winner, shedding tears of joy, which she shared with her family and friends who came to support her.

“I am so happy and I give thanks to God, family and friends for believing in me. This is the breakthrough I have worked so hard for and I am hopeful that I am yet to make a positive mark in the music industry,” she said.

Also, My Star’s former contestants, Motswafere and Kitso took the audience down memory lane with their breathtaking performances.

Kitso kept the audience on their toes with his soothing voice, while Motswafere got them glued to the stage with his electrifying performance.

Master Dee said though it had been a difficult year considering that the show ran without any sponsorship, he was proud that it had reached its intended purpose to nurture and groom talent among the youth.

He further appreciated all the support they received from Ministry of Youth Empowerment Sport and Culture Development since the inception of the show in 2007. ENDS
