Afro Jazz sensation, Trevor Mabua has released a song dubbed O kgona jang dedicated to children who are abandoned by their mothers after birth.

The album was released in September and according to Mabua, it was already enjoying airplay in local radio stations.

“The song is a teaser while a full album will be released in December,” he said.

The song was recorded at Hall of Fame Studios and features motswako artiste, Kelebogile Mabua, who goes by the stage name of HT Tautona and was produced by Tumelo Mafoko of Stream Jazz Band and Zolasco.

He also worked with Alfred Kavezedi.

Mabua said he was concerned about the rising number of children who are left by their mothers in toilets after self-induced deliveries.

“O kgona jang?, is a question posed to mothers who abandoned their babies. How do they sleep and continue with their daily activities knowing that they have left an innocent child by the streets.”

Mabua said he was motivated by one mother who gave birth to a child suffering from cerebral palsy, who loved her daughter and had never thought of abandoning her, yet mothers who give birth to normal kids abandon them.

The 46-year-old born and raised in Mahalapye and also an Art teacher.

He has been in the music industry for six years, working as an artiste, song writer and composer. ends
