Jagret Senwedi known as Brendan Ozala in entertainment circles, has released an album titled Shine Mr President.

The Moshupa-born artist, artist, explained in an interview that the main track, Shine Mr President, was composed to applaud different statesmen of different countries amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was recorded and produced by Brendy Records Studios with the aid of Bullet Rec Studios and Thando.

The other seven tracks, which include Nthusa Morena, Meropa ena, and Relatlhegetswe were produced, recorded and mastered by Brendy Records studios.

Ozala said his album was a mixture of different genres, with more disco than other genres.

He said the idea was to involve everyone in his album to increase sales and distribution of his work.

Ozala said he started his musical career in 2005, when he released Ba ja mmogo and later Ditshwene in 2009.

He said he also released Madi a Botswana single, which he only submitted to local radio stations in 2011, for airplay and it did well.

He said Morena thusa was a prayer song, dedicated for the religious market and Relatlhegetswe, was dedicated to Don B and Dan Thanda, who were legends in splash music.

Ozala said he was inspired by the likes of Don B, Patricia Majalisa and Don Tshanda, adding that he wanted to revive the genre as it was slowly disappearing, after the passing of Botswana’s celebrated artist, Don B.  Ends
