Just five months after his debut in the music industry with a single titled Atumela, 28-year-old Tshenolo Tauetsile, also known as T-Gray, has come back to rock the airwaves with O Nkganne.
Released in August, the Afro Pop song speaks to marriages and love relationships that end abruptly because partners are in it for the wrong reasons.
It also projects the popular social media notion ‘It will end in tears’ which is a warning to those who commit for wrong reasons.
T-Gray said he mostly preferred venac in his songs for a double impact and to convey the message in its original form.
“Setswana se monate and sometimes you can express yourself better in Setswana unlike risk distorting the expression in English.A nd again our mother tongue is very nice and rich and the younger generation should learn it and use it,” he said.
Just like Atumela, O Nkganne was recorded at Faith Records in Francistown, where the Kanye-born artiste is currently based. He revealed that since its release on August 28, the song had played on various local radio stations while the video had already made its debut on Botswana Television’s local talent show Flava Dome.
Within a week of it’s release, the single was already commanding attention within social media platforms such as Facebook.
In between marketing the two singles, T-Gray said he was also working on a 10-song album titled Motse wa Badimo to be released in the near future. Ends
