Theoter drops Gaborone Girls

01 Sep 2020

Upcoming dance hall artiste, Theophilus Mfaninyama aka Theoter in the entertainment circles, recently dropped a dancehall single track  called Gaborone Girls.

The track, which was recorded and produced by Victor Kgaswane of Touch Studios based in Gaborone, is meant to send advice, particularly to some Gaborone girls, who engage in lifestyles they cannot afford.

In an interview with BOPA recently, Theoter noted that the track was to hype his audience on what to expect from the entire album, to be released later this month.

He said such lifestyles had propelled most of them to engage in untoward behaviour.

Theoter has been in the music industry since 2016, when he started working as a Dj.

In 2017, he got together with other artistes to release his debut album, Never give up, which got him nomination for Best Reggae Artiste during the Botswana Music Union awards.

Information and Technology graduate from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, said his educational background enabled him to l benchmark from other artistes outside the country.

Theoter advised aspiring artistes to be vigilant, adding that ‘music should not only be about profit making. We ought to have a concrete message that will bring a positive change to society’.

He expressed concern about some musicians who tend to use foul language in their lyrics, which he said tainted their music. Ends
