Founder of a showbiz digital magazine, The Supply, says the magazine will afford the society an opportunity to know celebrities.
The Supply, which will be published this week, would focus on Botswana’s celebrity villa, lifestyle and influencers.
It is the brainchild of George Magapa.
He said during the magazine launch in Gaborone on Friday that he intended to reach out to the masses, create dialogue at the same time keeping the culture growing.
Magapa, also a professional rapper, said the magazine created a platform to appreciate Botswana celebrities.
“There are a lot of people out there in our country who love and have a lot of information to share with the world. Through the magazine, we would be able to give them the platform to do so,” he added.
Magapa further said the magazine would run digitally through WhatsApp and maybe after acquiring enough sponsors that’s when the magazine would be printed for all to access it.
Initially it was for it to be published bi-weekly, but due to lack of sponsorship it would be published monthly.
Sasa Klaas would be the first celebrity to be featured on the first cover.
She would be featured as a female hip hop artist in honour of women’s month and proved to be capable of standing strong against male counterparts.
President of Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU), Phemelo Lesokwane, described The Supply as a great initiative.
Lesokwane said the move should be an inspiration to other youngsters and artistes to come forth to show their talent.
The move, he added, was a clear indication that they were moving in the right direction.
In addition he added that, this platform should not only focus on creators who are already known in the industry but give upcoming creators a chance to shine and be seen. ENDS
