Mmamongwato new song hits airwaves

12 Aug 2020

Apart from being known as a versatile presenter of the Mokgaragana entertainment programme on Botswana Television, Atamelang Marumolo alias #Mmamongwato is also a musician.

She recently released a traditional jazz single track dubbed O ntshegatshega o le mang.

Though the track is not yet available on the market, the demo is already playing on radio stations and the track is a must have.

#Mmamongwato has unleashed her potential through the single.

The song was produced and recorded by Thabo Kgaswane aka Uncle Touch of Touch Records.

In an interview recently, #Mmamongwato indicated that the single track was just a hype of what to expect on her upcoming debut album to be released in due course.

She intends to use O ntshegatshega o le mang’s feedback to make any possible alteration before releasing her final copy.

“I decided to release a single for possible feedback from my audience, although I have been in the entertainment industry for some time.

I worked as a presenter for a music programme and now I wish to try my luck as an artiste, as such I am open for advice,” she said.

The presenter said she had observed that most of upcoming artistes were hungry to release albums and only to fail along the way as they failed to pay attention to details, which they usually realise after releasing their final work, hence they produce shoddy copies.

She said  it  becomes difficult and costly to reverse it all hence some fail to make a cut into industry, as such she said the single should help identify flaws and avoid falling in that trap.

“I felt I should share what I intend to offer, not that I am not sure of the path I want to embark on.

I wish to acknowledge the input of those who will use my end product especially that this will be my first trial,” she said.

Meanwhile #Mmamongwato explained that O ntshegatshega o le mang was about a woman with a failed marriage and instead of getting necessary support, she is mocked and ridiculed.

Additionally, the song explains that in most instances those who ridicule others are weaklings who cannot stand and face challenges encountered.

“As human beings, we cannot run away from social challenges that keeps rocking up, but whenever one is faced with such, there is no need to turn them into a laughing stock, rather we need to be supportive,” she said. ends
