Local female Dj Lerato Modiega has been nominated for the DJane Top 100 Awards.

The 26-year-old Yarona Fm presenter is pitted against other DJs around the world while in Africa she is up against the likes of Dj Zinhle and Lerato Kganyago of South Africa among others.

DJ Zinhle holds Africa’s top female Dj title for 2018 and 2019.

DJane is an online website about female Djs created to share the latest news, photos, music, and mixes around the world. Modiega expressed excitement at the recognition and said the nomination was a great opportunity for her.

She said she would not only be competing with the great creatives in the world, but she would also learn a lot from them.

To get Modiega in the race, the public can vote online once a month on https://djanetop.com/djanes/lerato-modiega/.

Currently, Modiega is number one in Botswana, position 31 in Africa and at number 517 in the world.

The winners will be announced at the end of the year.

Other local female DJs in the running are Laninah Benz who is number two in Botswana, 33 in Africa and 524 in the world. Olavshiz is number three in Botswana, 59 in Africa and 1 985 in the world. Botswana only has three participants in the 2020 DJane top 100 female awards.  ENDS
