Kabo Kalane alias Duzboi has dropped a single track dubbed Dear Mama in a quest to appreciate his mother’s unconditional support and love.

The 27-year-old Duzboi’s Motswako offering, recognises his mother’s love from his childhood days to date despite his flaws.

Unlike some parents who grow weary of tipping their children on doing the right things, his mother never gave up on him.

Like the saying sin is like a credit card you enjoy now and suffer later, Duzboi was a weakling who could not resist peer pressure. As such he ended up embroiled in mischievous behavioral practices, which negatively affected his academic performance.

As if that was not enough, upon completion of his studies at Kagiso Senior School, he ventured into music so as to be financially independent, however, that never came easily as he had thought.

His mother still stood by him when he ventured into music.

The music industry being a dog eat dog industry, he got raw deals several times.

Due to that he always came home empty handed, incurred expenses that he failed to settle through the music profits he generated.

Through it all, his mother Nkitseng Kalane never gave up on him. She had a strong believe that one day his son would make it and have a positive story to share.

Recounting about his recent single track, Duzboi attributed his mother for it, stressing that he owed all his success to her.

“I have let my mother down several times, but she always stood by my side,” he said.

Through the track, Duzboi appreciates her mother’s love, he felt a simple conversation with her was not enough resulting in the birth of Dear Mama. Duzboi believes that the song will send a strong message to her to realise how much he appreciates her.

His inspiration being South African rapper, Cresspo Castellano, his aim is to come tops by emulating his tactics while playing in the streets.

Though he formed Tswa Key crew in 2013 comprising some of his pals, they released singles and in 2016 he decided to go solo.

Duzboi later met with Thabang Tshwaedi aka Wouzbouy, the two worked collectively and managed to start-up own record label, known as Rhyme Records Entertainment.Duzboi has also worked along with DJ Hype, DJ NT and Obakeng Madume for mentorship and financial support. ENDS
