Shamele drops nine-track album

Upcoming kwaito artiste, Gomolemo Thepa, alias Shamele has dropped a nine-track album titled, Double story.
In an interview recently, the 27-year-old Gaborone-based musician said his album was produced at TRS records and True African studios.
The captivating Double Story features some of the famous kwaito artistes such as Dipstrada, Ghost and Abed 7.
His passion for music, dates back to his tender years when he used to listen to both local and foreign kwaito artistes who have influenced his musical career.
Shamele’s love of music saw him becoming a vocalist of repute and has danced for various crews in the country.
Growing up in the dusty streets of Extension 27 in Gaborone exposed him to different challenges and facts about Ghetto lifestyle hence opting for kwaito genre, originally from South Africa. The genre infiltrated the music industry in the 90s. His songs are heavily messaged and reflect on ghetto life.
“As an upcoming artiste, my dream is to build up a brand, which can be recognised by different stakeholders and perform in corporate events”, he said.
He therefore appealed to Batswana to support his music and explained that through their support his music would grow and be recognized internationally.
Shamele said his album had not yet been distributed due to by lockdown, noting that the album would soon be distributed in different stores and also available online.
Nonetheless, the artiste revealed that some of the songs were available in Orange and Be mobile caller tunes and urged Batswana to subscribe to his caller tunes while working on availing it to the market. ends
