African Attire on Fleek picnic influences fashion trends

The African Attire on Fleek picnic, which is held annually at Bojanala Waterfront in Gaborone, has proved to be one of the best spots to flaunt the latest trends and styles.
This year’s event was defined by bright colours of African prints with popping designs. The ruched halter and strapless dresses defined the event’s theme. Patrons accessorised and various patterns of pearls were key jewelry.
Making their way into the spotlight were the more comfortable shoes as well as the popular converse sneakers.
Whilst women took the spotlight at African Attire on Fleek picnic, men’s fashion was also flattering in its structure and silhouette. They donned a variety of colours and materials but with subtle patterns of plaid and nubby tweed.
African Attire on Fleek picnic celebrates fashionable African dresses and promotes song and dance. The event was packed with entertainment of traditional music, dance performances, the DJ pumping latest tunes and performance by international artists.
South Africa’s Amanda Black gave the audience a memorable performance and Lesotho’s Philey also gave his best and the crowd loved his performance.
New to Botswana stage, Blaq Diamond from South Africa did not disappoint either. The duo gave their fans a thrilling performance, dishing their popular songs Banoyi, Love Letter and many others.
In an interview with the duo, they said events such as these unite Africans and encourage them to embrace their culture and tradition. Blaq Diamond noted that their latest album was about Africanism as they celebrated various African tribes.
Despite the event’s performances starting behind scheduled times, the artists honoured their timeslots.
