26 Feb 2020

Anthony Mogomela, who prefers to be called by his stage name Dj Harry Cane, is not new to the music scene.

At 16 years, he was already enjoying playing beats on a computer he saved a few thebes to buy.

Now, at only 22 years, the Francistown-born and raised music producer and Dj, is oozing confidence to make a successful career out of making music beats.

Inspired by the likes of Dj Maphorisa, South African record producer and Dj, real name Themba Sekowe, Dj Harry Cane believes his success in the music industry would only survive through hardwork, passion and his steadfast drive to work with notable artistes across the different musical genres, both locally and across the border.

Mogomela developed a keen interest in music when he was still a toddler in Francistown and his meeting with a certain Dj Ras Banda was the launching pad of his dream.

Dj Ras Banda realised the great potential in him and soon asked him to relocate to Gaborone, where the market was easily accessible to meet potential promoters to refine his talent.

Mogomela hit the ground running and by mid-2018, he was already conducting interviews with local radio stations and soon met up with Theo Mothebedi and Thabo Raposo, fondly known as TH in musical circles.

Perhaps the biggest break for the youngster was when he met Thabo Matlhaku, affectionately known as Questo Majaivane, formerly Vee Mampeezy’s energetic dancer.

The duo dropped a chart topping single titled, Tika Tika, the song is enjoying massive viewership on various media platforms, especially YouTube. The video of the song was shot and directed by Karabo Molema of the Jack Botlhoko brand.

At the end of last year, he hooked up with soccer star, Mogakolodi Ngele, who is also into music.Ngele was amazed by Mogomela’s talent and soon invited him to set up a musical stable know as MN Entertainment in Gaborone Phase 2.

Among other notable hits he recorded and produced was Molao, featuring local rapper Atasaone Molemogi or ATI.

Mogomela also produced Tshepiso Molapisi also known as Kast’s single hit, Ntswembu and he is currently in studio to drop his own single titled, Kast, an admiration to the talented rapper, who has been in the music industry for some time now.

He is such a big dreamer. He hopes one day he will have a chance to rub shoulders with the likes of established acts such as Dj Khabza, Black Coffee to name but a few; who give him much inspiration with every passing day. ENDS
